It is possible that the cable
is connected to the back of DSR-8000dp incorrectly.
aa--Verify that the SCSI cable
is connected to the "Direct SCSI" port, not the "SCSI (MASTER)"
port.
aa--Confirm that the DSR-8000dp
is in "DPM88"mode? The SYSTEM MODE of DSR-8000dp needs to
be set to DPM88 in order for it to be recognized by the
computer.
aa--Confirm the SCSI ID of
the DSR-8000dp does not conflict with other SCSI devices
on the PC? |

This error indicates a Buffer
Underrun. The data is not being transferred fast enough
from the computer to the DSR-8000dp.
When you use Windows NT, confirm the source hard drive has
DMA turned on. For changing the DMA setting, please use
"DMACHECK.exe" which is included in Service Pack4 in Windows
NT.
When you use Windows 98/2000, please open "properties" of
HDD in the device manager and check the box marked DMA.

- If you are writing to more
than one recorder, confirm the blank DVD-R media is the
same in all the drives. When you use different blank disks
when writing to multiple drives, a writing error can occur.
- Confirm the blank DVD-R media you are using is labeled
"For Authoring"? |

It is normal for the unit to
report as a "HOEI DPM88 SYSTEM" in the Device Manager. There
is no driver for the system and having it listed as an unknown
device does not affect the operation of the unit. |

It is possible that ASPI driver
is not installed properly for the Adaptec SCSI card or the
driver needs to be updated.
- First, please confirm that the same error occurs when
using the SCE's CD/DVD-ROM Generator. Start up CD/DVD-ROM
Generator only, then open the Recording Unit Controller.
Does the "Loading ASPI Manager Loading Failed" error message
appear?
- If it does, the ASPI drivers need to be installed or updated.
The drivers are available on the Adaptec web site,
www.adaptec.com. |

Check if your PC and DSR-8000
are properly connected each other. Replace the SCSI cable
with an another fine cable if your have. Check whether the
ASPI driver is installed in your PC or if version of ASPI
driver in your PC may be old. The ASPI driver later than
ver4.60 is recommended to use with DPM88. |

you use.
Version of MCHECK.exe to check the master disc created by
the DPM88 ver2.00 must be later than SCE's "PlayStation
2" Master Disc Checker ver1.59. |
